Located in the heart of Long Island, 50 miles east of New York City, Farmingville is a hamlet in the Town of Brookhaven and is included in the Nassau-Suffolk metropolitan area. Originally inhabited by the Algonquian-speaking Native Americans, the area attracted early English settlers in the mid 1600s.
